On May 12th, 2003, my trip to the FanFest in California began. Like a kid before Christmas, I couldn't sleep at all the night before and only got around an hour of sleep in total. My dad and I left for Newark airport at around 7:30am and arrived with plenty of time to spare (my flight wasn't until 9:45).
We picked up my E-tickets courtesy of MS/Bungie.
Since we had some time before my flight, I decided to get something to eat. Unfortunately, the food was terrible and I had to throw almost all of it out.
Did I mention that this was my first time on a plane?
A little over 5 hours later, I arrived in Phoenix where I had to switch planes before moving on to LA.
On my way to LA (rhymed!).
MS/Bungie was kind enough to have a limo pick up all the finalists at the airport.
The other 2 finalists, Geoff Fink and Jeremy Roos.
MS/Bungie put us all up in individual suites at the Beverly Hills Hilton.

A Lincoln Town Car was sent to take us all to the FanFest, which was being held at the LA Convention Center at 7:30pm. The madness was about to begin.
